Certification

For many leaders, learning the coaching mindset, skillset, and processes in our coach training classes is enough to launch them toward helping others in a new and powerful type of relationship. Others seek to earn some level of certification that demonstrates to others that they have been trained and gained some experience in coaching.

Hollifield Leadership Center offers two levels of coach certification - both of which are built around the ten coaching courses offered through Valwood Christian Leadership Coaching.

Whether you are looking for a basic level of certification or want to more fully incorporate coaching into your life, work, and ministry, we can help you get the training, experience, and credibility you need.

Valwood Certificate in Leadership Coaching

Our basic level of certification is meant to demonstrate that you understand the concepts, mindset, and skillset of coaching, have received some training, and have experienced coaching for yourself from a seasoned coach.

To earn this certification, participants complete:

  • An Introduction to Christian Leadership Coaching Learning Experience. This on-line course focuses on helping participants understand the basic definitions and skills used in coaching, and discover ways to use it in their work. Cost: $150 per person. You may register here.
  • Foundations of Christian Coaching on-site course
  • Establishing a Dynamic Coaching Relationship on-site course
  • Three one-hour Teleclasses on group coaching and skill enhancement.
  • Six mentoring sessions led by a professional coaching instructor. Usually these are conducted through telephone conversations.
  • Coaching an individual or congregation concurrent with the mentoring coaching sessions.
  • Annual continuing education requirements to maintain certification status

Summary: The total cost for initial certification is $3,100 per person (the total cost for members of BSCNC affiliated congregations is $2,300 per person). The fee includes all meals, refreshments, single room lodging, facility usage, certification leadership, and materials. For events at Hollifield the food and lodging coverage is from the beginning of each learning experience to the end. If it is necessary to arrive the night before or stay an additional night, lodging (and meals, if being served) can be purchased separately.
