Facilities

The facility originally opened in 1959 as a leadership training center for Duke Power Co., which built the dam that created Lake Hickory. It became the Wyndolyn Royster Hollifield Leadership Center in 2000 when NC Baptists were able to purchase it.

Hollifield Leadership Center contains 12 buildings on its core campus of 16 manicured acres on a peninsula near the dam. Connected to the mainland only by the entrance road, it is virtually an island, surrounded by the placid lake. Fourteen additional acres are located on the mainland and contain auxiliary services and acreage for future expansion.

The Royston Learning Center is the center of activity on Hollifield's campus. This building houses three meeting rooms - including a 24-station computer lab - a recreation room, lobby/refreshments area, and some administrative offices.

Just outside the doors of the Royston building are Hollifield's cottages and lodges - 28 beautifully appointed lodging rooms, each with two queen beds and everything you need to make your stay here comfortable.

Across from the Royston Learning Center is Williams Hall - another conference/meeting room with several smaller breakout rooms.

At the end of the peninsula is the Bryant Dining Hall where our guests enjoy gourmet meals in a gorgeous setting overlooking Lake Hickory.

Our Faculty House is a three bedroom lake house with a full kitchen, living room, and screened-in porch.
