Though no one chooses a life of apathy and missed opportunity, we are so easily lulled to sleep -- losing the miraculous in the midst of the mundane. This month, Erwin invites leaders to embrace God's calling to a life of purpose and adventure. He asserts that God crafts divine moment's specific to each of us - priceless opportunities for us to actively engage in God's plan. Using the biblical account of Israel's war with the Philistines (1 Samuel 13 and 14), Erwin artfully illustrates the eight characteristics of an adventurer's heart - what he calls "the Jonathan factor." As you develop these characteristics, you will learn how to respond daily to Christ's divine invitation, seize the power of the moment, and discover a life of spiritual adventure. Facilitator: Erwin McManus - Lead Pastor, Mosaic Church in Los Angeles; author of several books including Chasing Daylight. Cost: $19.00 per person (includes lunch.) March 31-April 2 Coaching Teams Much of the work that we do within organizations and churches is with teams of people. Coaches use the same foundational skills to coach individuals and teams but if you've ever tried to coach a team of people, you know that it is much more complex than coaching an individual. Topics will include: • Guidance that scripture gives us about teams and coaching teams • Coaching groups to become teams • Coaching teams to become more effective teams • Assessing the dysfunctions of a team (using The Five Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick Lencioni) • Plenty of skills practice and case study work • Lots of fun!! Cost: $549 (A discount may be available to individuals affiliated with NC Baptist churches.) Schedule: 3:00p.m. Monday through 1:00p.m. Wednesday. Includes: Learning experience, facility usage, single room lodging, meals, refreshments, and other special benefits. Registration: Contact Kim Duncan at Kduncan@Hollifield.org or call 828-441-3146, or 866.HLC.LHLC.
